Itinerant for much of her life, Sheila now lives in Tunbridge Wells. After a career in the professional theatre she flexed her creative muscles again by exploring the pleasures of clay - firstly at Chipstead Studios, followed by KCC classes. She is now independently discovering what's possible hand-building using just a few resources: a basic white glaze warmed with a little stain, a few oxides and coloured glass. Mainly she works in stoneware, incorporating a variety of materials to add texture and interest. Typically she produces pots, platters and bowls of all shapes and sizes - but little birds too, of no particular breed. When the opportunity presents however, Sheila also enjoys creating decorative but mainly functional raku ware using the metallic glazes.

Thanks to Kent Potters, Sheila has now had her first pots exhibited - at the West End House Gallery in Smarden.

Sheila is also an artist, creating abstract and impressionistic works in acrylic and mixed media.
