I began working with clay over 26 years ago. After completing Part 1 & 2 City & Guilds Ceramics, I started tutoring pottery classes. Since then I have tutored mainstream classes for adults and I also work with children and teachers in a local primary school, advising, mixing glazes and slips as well as firing the kiln. I also take classes at Chipstead Craft Studios and I now run classes in my own studio.

Having finished a part-time Art History degree in 2005, I now have more time for my ceramic work. At the moment I'm making functional ware which includes bowls of all sizes, bottles, vases, mugs jugs and candle holders. These are fired to stoneware temperatures. Occasionally, I also work with porcelain; and terracotta clay which I decorate with coloured slips.

I recently visited the oceans on the other side of the world. The experience of the movement and colours of the South Pacific is reflected in the colours and shapes of a series of thrown and altered shallow bowls. I call these ocean bowls.
