Kent Potter's Association Marcio Mattos Master Day

Marcio Mattos Master Day, 3 November 2001

Marcio Mattos is both a potter and a jazz musician. He combines the two professions, but acknowledges, and sometimes encourages the two to influence each other. In some respects this is purely practical in that a bass player's fingers are not compatible with throwing abrasive clay on a wheel. On the other hand, the natural rough and rusting shapes and colours which form his inspiration in nature are clearly reflected in both his pots and his music.
